gosh I’ve been a statement of purpose guru a lot lately. All I can tell you is what I did. I talked about my first experience with writing and seeing others appreciate it and how that feeling became addictive. Sharing my work is the new Meth. Definitely explain what your goals are, hopefully those goals are more noble than vain. If I could bear to do anything else instead of write, I would because truthfully no one is begging us to do it. Usually I have some genuine sincerity bubble wrapped it snark and irreverence. Wherever you do your mfa go for the chance to work with faculty you admire in a reasonable location. Otherwise it may not be worth it. Good luck to you!
